This enchanting necklace
features a “Cavandoli “ knotted centerpiece
adorned with a cascading fringe of glorious
beads. The knotted section has a geometrical
pattern that is reminiscent of the weavings
of the Southwest. The beaded fringe is free
form, yet balanced. This design gives you a
chance to put together many of your favorite
beads and charms in a necklace that you are
sure to treasure for years to come. A basic
kit that includes cord, lining and clasp may
be purchased from the instructor but the
students must furnish their own beads. (see Supply Lists)
The workshop will cover the following subjects:
1. How to create geometrical patterns using “Cavandoli” or tapestry knotting. (The instructor will bring examples of finished work and introduce other Cavandoli patterns that students may want to try as time permits).
2. Balancing shapes and colors to create a beautiful beaded fringe.
3. Stringing and finishing a neck chain.
